How You Can Keep a Sharp Mind as You Age

As we go through life, we all hope we can maintain good physical and mental health as long as possible. There is not much pleasure in living a long life if our final years are spent in pain and if we lose our ability to think and remember. As much as we may dread suffering physical pain and illness in old age, many of us fear even more the possibility that we might lose our mental capacities and end up completely helpless in a nursing home.

Often the first hint that our memory is starting to lose its sharpness happens around the fifth decade of life. As people enter their middle years, they start to notice more and more frequent lapses of memory, particularly their short-term memory. They may enter a room to do something, and forget what it is. They may be unable to recall the name of someone who used to live next door. And they may start to worry that their forgetfulness is more than just a harmless incident, they worry that it might be the first hint of something far more sinister--perhaps the onset of Alzheimer's Disease.

Alzheimer's is the name given to a very serious brain disease in which the brain cells are killed by microscopic plaques and tangled fibers. The parts of the brain needed to form and access recent memories are usually destroyed first. Brain cell destruction spreads to other parts of the brain, causing a loss of function, and eventually death follows.

At present there is no known cure for Alzheimer's disease. Scientists are racing to learn the cause, or causes of Alzheimer's, and to find a way to stop the destruction of the brain once it starts. As baby boomers age, millions of them will be at risk for acquiring Alzheimer's and other serious brain diseases.

Alzheimer's disease is not the only cause of loss of brain function in elderly persons. There are many other causes that can lead to a diminishment of mental capacity or to outright dementia in later years.
Fortunately, you can learn what the risk factors are which are associated with a higher likelihood of developing problems, and you can take steps to counteract them.

And the good news is: you don't need to make a choice between looking after your heart, or looking after your brain. In many cases, what's good for the heart will benefit the brain as well.

High blood pressure is a major risk factor in developing dementia. Not only does high blood pressure damage brain cells directly, but it also increases the risk of stroke, which will lead to the permanent destruction of brain cells. To prevent strokes, have your blood pressure checked regularly, and if your blood pressure is too high, work with your doctor to bring it down to a safe level.

Diabetics are at particularly high risk for developing dementia. If you are diabetic, it is very important to get your blood sugar levels under control.

If you want to protect your brain for the long term, avoid excess alcohol consumption. Long term consumption of more than two alcoholic drinks a day can directly damage brain cells, as well as deplete the body of important nutrients it requires to function, particularly Vitamin B1 (thiamin).

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people suffer brain injuries occur as a result of automobile accidents. Many of these traumas could be prevented or reduced by slowing down while driving, and by wearing a seat belt.

We know that some senior citizens are able to live into their eighties and nineties with their minds sharp and their bodies still spry. Will we be among the lucky ones? Is it just a matter of random luck? Is losing our mental powers as we age inevitable?

The good news is that statistically the odds are on your side. Most people are able to keep their thinking clear as they age unless they develop Alzheimer's disease, heart disease, or diabetes. As long as the brain itself remains healthy, older people can preserve their ability to learn, to think and remember, although it may take them longer to process their thoughts than it used to. And in some forms of mental skills, seniors are actually able to outperform much younger people!

By studying the health habits of senior citizens who have reached old age with their minds and bodies intact, scientists have discovered some of the factors that seem to be associated with better mental functioning in old age.

Based on these studies, scientists believe that some of the factors that influence whether or not you stay mentally healthy in your later years are actually under your control.

There is some evidence that people who have a diet high in antioxidants have lower rates of getting Alzheimer's. Fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly those that have strong, bright colors, tend to be high in protective antioxidants that help repair damage to the body's cells caused by harmful chemicals called free radicals.

People who consume greater levels of cold water fish such as salmon, tend to have lower rates of Alzheimer's disease. There are also vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements that seem to have a protective effect on the brain. Higher intakes of Folic acid are associated with a lower incidence of Alzheimer's disease.

People who continue learning, who keep on reading, writing, and acquiring new skills tend to be sharper in their mental skills as they age. Scientists think that perhaps learning new things helps brain cells make more connections.

If you want to follow in the footsteps of those who manage to reach their later years with both their bodies and their minds in good shape, make it a priority to eat well, exercise regularly, and get sufficient sleep.

Reduce stress by learning to relax, take pleasure in your family and friends, and find ways to connect with causes greater than yourself. Keep learning, and look for ways to be happy, no matter what your circumstances.

Surgery Jobs Are Yours for the Taking

You've gone through school. You've done all your clinicals. You've finished your internships. You've gotten your certifications in the state. Now you're ready to hunt down surgery jobs and show that you have what it takes to work in the healthcare industry. It may be harder to find a surgeon job in a hospital than you think - which is why you need someone giving you the extra little push.

A medical recruiter may be the best way to look for surgery jobs. You need to find someone who already has an in with the hospital and will listen to the recommendations. Some hospitals will ignore your resume because of one or more reasons, like:

• You don't have a lot of experience
• Your resume didn't come from a recruiter
• You haven't worked for a particular hospital
• You don't have a recommendation from a name they recognize

Hospitals will find a variety of reasons why they skip over resumes - and most of the time it's not personal. It's simply that they get so many resumes for surgery jobs that they need to find a way to sort through them all. And unfortunately, your resume may be sliding through each time.

A recruiting company is being used by hospitals more and more. This is because hospitals are learning that they don't have the time to recruit surgeons. Their time is better spent working on other aspects of HR - like training. This means that they hand over a list of open positions to the recruiter and then step in when it's time to conduct final interviews and make a hiring decision.

Looking for surgery jobs is much simpler when you work with a resume. You will only have to turn your resume in once and they will submit it to the hospitals that you qualify for - along with their stamp of approval.

You may not be looking in all of the areas that you could be. You may be looking at the big picture and trying to apply to the two or three big hospitals in the area. You forget that there are a lot of little doctor offices that hire surgeons as well. They then "borrow" space at the hospital in order to perform the surgeries. Cosmetic surgeons, cardiac surgeons, Orthopedics and others are known for doing this - and a recruiter is aware of these things.

You don't want to be looking for jobs forever and the recruiter doesn't want you to. They are going to do all they can to help you find surgery jobs. They will likely be able to find you more than one that you qualify for, allowing you to take your pick. This makes it easy for you to find the surgeon position that you want so that you are happier inside of your chosen career.

The Secret To Cure Anxiety: Distract Yourself!

Too many things that are happening in this world can make anyone to become anxious over what's to come. That will be true if you have a history of chronic anxiety and depression. It's sometime difficult to cope with the situation when the panic sensation is attacking you out of nowhere.

Anxiety is caused by too much preoccupation toward something that you may not want to think about. For instance, if you think too much about disease and poverty, you can easily get anxiety, and on your mind, it will be even worse if you are easily depressed. In order to preserve your mental health, you have to try to remove yourself from the attachment toward the grim reality, or gloomy thinking.

It doesn't mean to get out from reality completely. It only means that you have to stop focusing on what's wrong about your life.

Think about it. Everyone has their own ups and downs in their life. Nobody has the perfect life. By focusing too much on the bad side, you are taking your life too seriously, and it will only make your life even worse. Why? That's because anxiety can produce panic and depression, and in some cases, phobias toward something completely normal. It can also ruin your happy mood, which means that you will no longer be able to experience happiness in life.

There is one little secret that you can apply to cure your anxiety at the time, which is to distract yourself. Yes, you have to move your attention toward something different from your normal thinking pattern. Instead of thinking about the things that are going to make you more anxious, you simply help yourself out by moving your attention toward something that you enjoy doing. In this way, you are effectively ignoring your anxiety.
Here are a few steps that you can take:
  1. Whenever you feel the panic attack and anxiety starts to take over your mind, you have to be aware of what you are thinking right now. If you are thinking about negative thoughts, just be aware about it.
  2. Now, stop thinking about those bad thoughts and remember something that will naturally make you happy, that you enjoy doing yourself. For instance: watching movies, playing some games, walking around the block, gardening, going to the beach, and so on.
  3. Then, do the things you enjoy doing when you feel the anxiety intensifies within your mind. You have to tell yourself right now, "Okay, I'm going to stop this anxious feeling now. I'm out to the beach!"
  4. Get absorbed in your new activity.
And there you go. You've handled your anxiety in an effective way. Try it the next time you feel a sudden panic and anxiety attack in your mind.

Quitting Smoking - 13 Signs You Are Not Taking It Seriously

Not taking quitting smoking seriously may sound like an odd way to approach such an important issue as quitting cigarettes. But that's exactly what I'm suggesting happens sometimes. Maybe it's intentional and maybe not. By that I mean are you consciously or unconsciously blocking your success.

13 signs you are unconsciously blocking your success, or you just don't want to quit.

You turn up for a hypnosis session and challenge the therapist to put you under.
You have been too busy to read you pre session email and follow the pre instructions.
Your partner booked the session and you engaged with the process.
Your intake form is only sparsely filled out, avoiding specific important details.
You keep some cigarettes on hand just in case.
You're not prepared to avoid a risky smoking situation on the night of your session, in order for your nervous system to fully process the change.
You complain that you may have to give up two hours of your time to quit.
When booking the session it is the least important item in your busy schedule.
You don't do your follow up steps.
You take several weeks to report a problem.
You come out of hypnosis, and in spite of experiencing specific hypnotic indicators, in spite of no prior hypnotic experience, you immediately question whether you were in a trance.
You have a cigarette sometime after quitting, even though you didn't need one or want one.
You forget to turn up for your appointment, given that most people who attend can think of little else in the prior day, forgetting is questionable.
So why turn at all if you are not serious, it could be that you don't want to quit, but are going through the motions to please someone else. But more likely you have a parts conflict.

That is a part of you wants to quick, but another part deep down in your subconscious is not only not ready but will actively block your efforts.

Let's assume that you do want to be a non smoker, then the solution is to dig deep prior to your session, to be completely honest about your reasons for smoking, and to allow yourself to deeply feel the pain of smoking.

Look at yourself in the mirror and shot out your intention to quit, then light a cigarette and blow the smoke through a tissue and feel the disgust.

How Do Music and Laughter Help You Stay Healthy

These days, people have huge loads to carry all day and all night. Be it work pressure at office or pressure of studies, everything makes life a race in which we don't get the space to cherish the happy moments of life. Stress, depression, frustration leave us nowhere. Everybody needs to flush them out of life for better health and good lifestyle. Scientists has discovered that music therapy and laughter therapy can effectively work to offer relief from the three diseases mentioned above. In fact it can also heal several mental disorders and other diseases.

Music Blesses Your Heart:

From the earlier days it is believed that music has got the strength to instill life even in a dead soul. Music speaks without words. Be it A.R Rahman's soothing sound tracks or Beethoven's mind blowing nodes, a scientific research proves that music has healing properties. According to the 2013 research reports presented by Daniel Levitin, a renowned psychologist who is a master in neuroscience of music, it is seen that music comprises of higher level of immunoglobin A, an antibody responsible for enhancing immunity.

Dissolving the Stress:

The therapeutic effect of music can release stress and calm your agitated mind. Hence, it is considered to have anti-anxiety properties. When life is disturbed due to different negative situations, just plug in your head phone into a device that plays music and listen to your favorite song, you would be taken away to a blissful state far away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This therapeutic power is used by doctors in terms of music therapy to help different kinds of ailments starting from autism and problems of depression to Alzheimer's disorder and even heart problems.

What Research Says about Music's Stress Bursting Properties?

Three American scientists proved music's special feature of releasing out stress from your brain. They performed their research by examining two groups of people. Among the groups, one had the choice of playing a soothing music as per their choice while the other group did not listen to any music.

With the help of this test, the scientists proved that the levels of stress hormone known as Cortisol dropped to 50 percent in the first group compared to the other group which did not listen to music.

Music: It's in Your Head, Changing Your Brain

Music therapists often work non-verbally. Due to this reason, it is considered effective for individuals with verbal expression difficulties, such as children having autism.

According to the American Music Therapy Association, music therapy can act as a positive reinforcement of appropriate behaviors and a motivator to decrease negative ones. Through this therapy, the victims of autism can develop their language skills, and the identification and expression of emotions. There are few children of autism who have great musical abilities, and this therapy can help boost up their mental strengths.

For Alzheimer's patients, who suffer from memory and thinking impairment, music therapy proves to be an amazing healing process since they might emotionally respond to the songs of their past.

Apart from this music is also considered a wonderful tool to improve one's concentration during study and at work. Soft classical music is often recommended by doctors to help the patients of high blood pressure.

Laugh to Live Life:

Beside music therapy, laughter therapy also has positive healing powers. Humor is a contagious injection that binds two people together. When laughter is shared it increases happiness and integrity thereby killing depression and releasing stress. Laughter triggers positive physical changes in the body.

A charming personality with a crazy heart is always appreciated. Through laughter therapy one can strengthen his immune system, increase the level of energy, reduce sorrow or pain, and ultimately reduce stress level. It can be considered the best priceless medicine to live life happily. Sharing laughter is the most effective tool to keep relationships fresh and exciting.

These days, people are inspired to join laughter classes where they can rejuvenate their body, mind and soul. It is very essential for the heart patients to stay happy; doctors always suggest them to avoid as much stress as possible. For them laughter therapy can work wonder.

No matter how expensive the treatment might be, you will not even feel any financial burden with such effective plans. For purchasing medical insurance policies, browse your net and look for the best plans at cost effective premiums. While purchasing such a policy, the primary thing that should be considered is coverage i.e. what are the benefits you can avail through a respective plan. Smokin’! 15 low calorie barbecue ideas

Are you watching your weight but still want to enjoy Summer to the full? Whether you’re having a backyard bash to entertain friends, a 4th of July cookout or just enjoy cooking al fresco, we have some great meal ideas for you that are low in calories and high in taste. By trying out our top tempting barbecue ideas, you can still enjoy yourself without loading up on calories.
Bodacious burgers

Burgers are a staple of barbecue dining and can be enjoyed by almost everyone. By making your own, you can use fresh ingredients, regulate your portions and avoid hidden calories. What’s not to like?
Turkey cheeseburger (354 calories)

Tip: Make your burger ‘Hawaiian’ by adding a slice of grilled pineapple. Only 30 calories extra.
Turkey burger with baked potato and coleslaw (363 calories)

Tip: Potatoes can be baked on the barbecue. Just wrap them in tin foil and place them on the coals. Use a skewer to check that they are cooked through.

Vegetarians - you don’t have to miss out on enjoying a burger. Here’s a meat-free option for you.
Mushroom burger with salad and sweet potato wedges (361 calories)

Tip: Portobello mushrooms are a good choice but any large flat-cap mushroom will work just as well.
For the kids

As ‘little people’, kids don’t need adult-sized portions and mini-versions of adult food can tempt even the pickiest of eaters. With this in mind, halve all of your recipe ingredients and cook mini-burgers or ‘sliders’ for the kids.

Tip: Serve with sweet potato wedges and mini-corn cobs. That’s two of their five-a-day right there.
Funky chicken

A versatile and nutritious food, chicken is a tasty ingredient for any barbecue. Rather than cooking chicken portions, you can cut the calories by choosing chicken fillets (diced or whole). Here are a couple of low-calorie barbecue ideas for chicken.
Chicken skewers (121 calories)

Tip: If you don’t like pickles, thread chunks of peppers or onions on the skewers instead.
Chicken and bean salad with avocado (351 calories)

Tip: Add a few drops of lemon juice to retain your avocado’s lovely green colour.
Feeling fishy?

If chicken isn’t your ‘thing’ then fish is a fantastic alternative. There really is something special about the taste of fresh seafood combined with that smoky, barbecue flavour. Here are some easy fish-based barbecue ideas to try:
Baked salmon with basil dressing and red pepper tomato salsa (370 calories)

Tip: Fish can get very crumbly when grilling! So if you don’t want your ‘catch of the day’ to disappear into the coals, wrap it in tin foil first.
Grilled cod with herbs and new potatoes (365 calories)

Tip: Squeeze over some lemon juice and add cracked black pepper for a zingy, low-calorie flavouring.
Marinated onion and prawn kebabs with rice salad (369 calories)

Tip: Scallops are a tasty alternative to prawns and can be easily substituted in this recipe.
Where’s the beef?

If you prefer something more robust then beef is a good choice. However, if you are watching your calories, choose lean minced beef and trim all visible fat off steaks and other cuts. Remember, it’s recommended to enjoy red meat just a couple of times per week for good health.
Homemade beef burger with oven chips (352 calories)

Tip: For a healthier alternative to oven chips, try sweet potato wedges or a fresh salad instead.
Coriander steak with sweet potato wedges (368 calories)

Tip: Meat cooks quickly on the outside on a barbecue so always be sure to check it’s cooked through inside.
Simply salad

Fresh and bursting with flavour, a salad is the ideal accompaniment to your main dish. Here are some Summer salad recipes for you to savour
Feta and pomegranate salad (358 calories)

Tip: Halloumi cheese is a good substitute to feta and can be grilled on the barbecue as it doesn’t melt.
Chargrilled asparagus and pine nut salad (353 calories)

Tip: Asparagus is only in season for a very short time in summer. So enjoy it while you can!
Spicy fruit and nut rice salad (357 calories)

Tip: Dried cranberries or ‘craisins’ make a good substitute for sultanas.
Just desserts

Fruit is low in calories, high in nutrients and the ideal palate-cleanser after your barbecue feast. Here are a couple of refreshing summer desserts to try.
Fruit salad with mint (115 calories)

Tip: Mint is a great aid to your digestion and can quickly banish that ‘too full’ feeling if you have over-indulged.
Fruit skewers with cottage cheese (127 calories)

Tip: If cottage cheese isn’t for you, try substituting some natural yoghurt instead.
For the kids

Kids love ice-lollies so why not puree fruit with some yoghurt or fromage frais and freeze in ice-lolly moulds. These can keep for up to three weeks, so are ideal for the summer holidays. Use any fruit you like.

Tip: Before pouring into the moulds, add some whole berries/fruit pieces or chocolate chips for extra ‘yummies’.
Fancy a drink?

We always recommend alcohol in moderation for health and weight loss so if you are enjoying a drink with your barbecue, avoid high-calorie beer, cider and alcopops. Make a refreshing spritzer from white wine and soda water or try some of these low-calorie cocktails.

3 Fitness Terms To Drop From Your Fitness Vocabulary

There's a lot of great fitness information around today, in magazines, books and especially online. But there is also a lot of misleading fitness information out there, including these three terms you should stop using yourself...

No Such Thing As Toning Muscles
Many articles and ads talk about 'toning muscles'. Often you see it in regards to women's fitness, implying that this is somehow different from other types of workouts. There are workouts for strength, power, size, cardio, aerobics, flexibility and sport-specific workouts, and beginner, intermediate and expert workouts for each of those. There is NOT some other type of workout that achieves some undefined notion called 'toned'.

Forget 'Workouts For Women' Too
Your second fitness term to drop is workouts for women. Muscles on men and muscles on women have the same composition and the same purposes. A man's workout is a woman's workout is a man's workout - plain and simple. The difference in muscle size is chemical - men's testosterone levels are much higher than those found in a woman's body, and that's what makes the biggest difference.

Writers and marketers use the term 'women's workouts' to play on the irrational fears some ladies have that lifting weights will make them big and bulky. Don't let them put that same fear into you - hit the gym and lift weights all you like. You'll be healthier, stronger, have more energy and most likely look lot better, even though your weight may increase since muscle is denser (heavier) than fat. If you are even a bit concerned that you may bulk up from lifting weights, stick to powerlifting workouts - heavier weights with fewer reps per set. That style of workout focuses more on building muscle strength and less on building muscle size, for either men or women.

The Goal Is NOT Weight Loss!
Probably the most destructive fitness term you should drop is weight loss, yet it's the number one term searched for at Google some years. If you have a higher percentage of body fat than you should for your body type and height, what you want is FAT LOSS, not weight loss...

If all you're concerned with is losing weight, and you measure it using the common bathroom scale, you're setting yourself up to fall victim to every weight loss scam that comes along and a lifetime of yo-yo dieting. Remember that muscles weigh more than fat, and your body is programmed to get rid of all unnecessary muscle and store energy in the form of fat. As such, any rapid weight loss will mean you've lost more muscle than fat, which isn't your goal - in fact, it makes you even less healthy.

Further, your body has a goodly amount of water in it, and water weighs about 62.5 pounds per cubic foot. Ridding your body of some of that water will also drop your weight - and your health right along with it. In fact, not only is that water needed by your circulatory system and organs, but as little as 3% dehydration starts to affect your mental prowess as well...

When you think in terms of fat loss, you'll focus on healthy nutrition and regular exercise - both of which can lead you to lose bodyfat, gain muscle, have more energy and generally be much healthier. Keep that focus and lose the term 'weight loss' starting today - you'll be that much closer to living your ideal fitness lifestyle!

Keeping Your Brain Working

We can do more for our brains than we realize. And most of what we can do are things that will help our general health as well.

For our brains, and the health of our bodies, it is important to stay hydrated, detoxified and oxygenated. We can do this by drinking plenty of water. Green tea and peppermint tea are also an excellent way to keep hydrated. And smoothies made with fresh fruit and yogurt keep our brains energized.

Having diets that consist of a sufficient supply of fish oil will boost our brain power. The old adage about an apple a day keeping the doctor away is not just a myth. They really do help our brains and health. Salmon contains omega3 and protein for our bodies and brains; avocados increase blood flow; assorted vegetables, particularly those that are brightly coloured, and fruit. Blueberries in particular are extremely beneficial. Other foods include whole grains, olive oil and cocoa which will be good news for chocolate lovers to know. Important also is to eat a hearty breakfast and to avoid fatty and sugary foods.

Simple solutions to jump starting your brain are to keep a journal; to try writing poetry, even if you think you can't; listen to music and get your body moving. Try learning a foreign language or an instrument. I'm giving the piano another try since my few lessons when I was eight years old. It's amazing what I actually have remembered.

Other ideas that are good for your brain and general well-being are to think positively. There's always two ways of looking at something. Why pick the negative way? Smile and laugh often. It will change your perspective on life. Keep socially active and involved. Listen to the ideas of others. They will give your brain a boost. And have you tried to use chopsticks? That is certainly an experience.

Exercise your memory. Spend time with children, perhaps play Wii with them or some other computer game. Take children on excursions, talk to them and really listen to their views on what they see and think. Children can carry on delightful conversations and you may find that it's a whole new way of looking at life. They certainly will make you think faster. Play trivia games and if you don't do well, make it a point to remember trivia facts. Keeping your brain active can include hobbies. What are yours? Reading, knitting, photography, water colours, yoga or meditation?

Physical exercise is good for your brain, your body and your general health. Don't park too close to your destination so that you have a further distance to walk. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, do yard work, walk the dog, swim, dance and play golf.

Most things you do for your brain will also help your body and increase your general sense of well-being. With that, life becomes more enjoyable.

Play With Your Panic Attack By Playing With Your Mind

Most people, when they encounter a panic attack, will immediately feel the rushing sensation in their body, and their mind will suddenly go everywhere, unable to be controlled. It might be true for you as well. When you experience sudden anxiety attacking your mind, you will tend to think all over the place. You will lose your self-control and be engulfed completely with fear and phobia that will make you unable to move.

Think about a stage fright. If you never speak in public before, you might immediately feel the panic sensation whenever somebody asked you to speak to a public audience. You will experience a stage fright, and you seem to be unable to move your legs, let alone your lips. You want to run, but you can't move your body either.

That's a common sensation of panic attack. But, there is something that you have to remember. Panic attack can only attack your mind. In other words, it's just a fragment of your imagination. So, the way you deal with it is to break the pattern within your mind that builds the anxiety that you are experiencing. Just challenge your mind!

Here's a good method that you will find helpful. Whenever you experience a sudden panic attack and you feel anxious all of the time without being able to control your thoughts, here are some things that you have to do:

Take an alarm clock with you. It can be your smartphone or just a regular alarm clock.

When you feel the panic, set the alarm clock to one minute stopwatch mode.

Play a little game with your mind. Tell yourself, "Well, myself, I'm sure you are now getting crazy over this thing. I would like to know how crazy it is for you. Give me all your best."

Next, start the countdown in your stopwatch and watch the clock ticking. Tell yourself further, "If you can't prove that this panic sensation is not just an illusion, I'll control the situation fully. I'll give you 60 seconds."

Then, start thinking about your panic and find all the reasons why you should be anxious in this situation. Intensify the feeling for as long as the stopwatch clock is still ticking.

Once the clock goes to zero, tell yourself again, "Well, there's nothing dangerous ahead. It proves that this panic sensation is just an illusion. OK, let's move."
When you do this simple trick, you are actually playing with your mind to prove its own point. Why should you get anxious in this situation? You'll let your mind to give the reason. Then, whatever the reason, you'll just stop it from giving you the panic sensation once the clock is going to zero. You simply move on after that as if you don't have any kind of panic or anxiety before.
