Treating of diabetes types 1 and 2 is started with the right diet and exercise. Nevertheless, what is important is not what one gets to eat. Eating a well balanced diet is more important, and ensuring that the body gets well fueled. Going for exercises at the gym may not be the ideal solution either. It is more important to be in a good physical shape, increase activity and set health goals when it comes to nutrition. When it comes to diabetes treatment in the Woodlands, there are various options.

When an individual eats a well balanced diet that is coupled with the right exercise, the body works very efficiently. In some instances, changing the diet or patterns of exercise will be enough to remove extra stress of the pancreas. In such instances, it is possible to bring the disease under control. The right diets and exercises tend to bring glucose levels to the right proportion. These can then be supplemented with other drugs.

There is a recommended composition of the diet. It should have 50 percent of carbohydrates, less than 30 percent of fats and 20 percent proteins. There however are other considerations that are essential. For instance, it is important to be consistent by eating regularly. A delay or skipping of meals would be detrimental as it affects level of glucose in the blood. If one overindulges, the same effects are experienced.

One should have fun by having the same meals other members of the family are having. This is as long as the meals are chosen carefully. It is very important that the food is balanced. There should be ample amounts of vegetables, fruits, dairy products, lean meats, fish and magnesium. One needs to choose unsaturated fats that are found in oils and not saturated fats in butter.

One does not need to entirely avoid foods that are sugary like baked foods. Rather, these foods need to be reserved for special occasions. They need to be consumed in moderation. When it comes to exercise, 30 minutes of aerobic exercises every day should be okay. Exercising has a wide range of effects on the body which includes increased ability to regulate levels of blood glucose. The good thing with exercise is that it does not need lots of money for achievement of results.

Ideally, maximum benefits are gotten when one indulges in prolonged and intensive activity. However, it also benefits one greatly by taking part in not so intense exercises that are in small amounts. Any change of patterns of exercising needs to be done carefully since such sudden change destabilizes sugar levels. During the start of exercising, glucose levels need constant monitoring to determine the response of the body to increased activity.

There are medicines that are used to manage glucose levels. The medicines will inform the pancreas to produce more insulin or cells to respond better to insulin. Increasing the levels of insulin produced does not however solve the problem. This is because the treatment only works for a limited time.

With the use of medicines alone, the pancreas will wear out eventually. After this happens, insulin injections will be required. It is thus important to remember that medications alone would not be ideal for treatment.
